Top 5 Super Bowl Contenders
It's never too early to look ahead, as they say, and today, I wanted to take a look into this upcoming NFL season and give my top 5 Super Bowl Contenders for the season.
5. Seahawks- You simply can't have a list like this without the reigning Super Bowl Champions and they do deserve to be on this list. Last year Sam Darnold really took off and looked like a franchise QB. It definitely didn't hurt that he had an incredible talent in Jaxson Smith-Njigba and Super Bowl MVP RB Kenneth Walker. Walker is in Kansas City now but the Seahawks are still incredibly well-coached and will still be a tough out for anyone.
4. Bears- The duo of Head Coach Ben Johnson and young upstart QB Caleb Williams really found their stride last year. Winning the NFC North for the first time in years and knocking off their bitter rivals, the Packers, in the Playoffs was a massive accomplishment for this young team and they will only improve this year.
3. Ravens- The Ravens had quite the interesting off-season this year with all of the Max Crosby drama before ultimately snatching Trey Hendrickson from the division rival Bengals. Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry are still a formidable pairing and with a new era at the coaching position, the Ravens will be hungry to get the bad taste of last season out of their mouth.
2. Broncos- Denver come into this season with a ton of hype after how well Bo Nix played last year. But that is also a bit of a concern as he continues to rehab his late season injury. But the Broncos insist he will be ready by Week 1 so if that's true, they bring arguably the league's best defense back and bring in WR Jaylen Waddle to improve the offense, this team can make it one step further than last year with another good run this year.
1. Rams- This one was easy. The Rams are at the top of just about every list like this since the stunning acquisition of two-time Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett. Bring him into an already stacked defensive line and great offense led by NFL MVP and future Hall of Famer Matthew Stafford and it's a recipe for success. The Rams are the odds-on favorite to win it all this year and I believe in their eyes, anything short of that goal is a massive disappointment.
